So I am very aware that there is a lot of reptitive evidence out that to support that fact that Jace and Clary are in fact not related, but I did happen to find something interesting skimming through my copy of CoB that I finally got back fromy my friend who had it all summer.

CoB Page 155 (paperback), Chapter Ten, which is called City of Bones

They're at the dinner table eating the chinese that Isabelle ordered...

Hodge pusehd his plate away. "Valentine was insane.", he said. "Brilliant, but insane. He cared about nothing but killing demons and Downworlders. Nothing but making the world pure. He would have sacrificed his own son for the case and could not understand how anyone else would not."

and then it goes onto foreshadowing that Jace is 'Valentine's Son'
He had a son?" Said Alec
"I was speaking figuratively," Said Hodge...

but anyways, I hadn't seen this posted on any of the other forums, if it has already, I apologize. I know how annoying it is when theories are constantly repeated.

So... thoughts?

There are sooo many "clues" about this in CoA, so I love it when we find random parts of CoB that support it also.

I was devastated when i first finished this one and it didn't even cross my mind that it *might* not be true. But then I got my mother to read it and she was all "ha, i don't think they're related at all." which is awesome.

Hooray for finding a clue that hasn't been overdiscussed! you get bonus points!

But then again, who knows? maybe hodge was covering up a slip of the tongue?
but i think we'd all like to look at it as a hint that all is not as it seems.
